What happens next
- You send a message. It takes about a minute.
- I reply, usually within a few hours. I'll answer your questions and, if we're a good fit, I'll send you a link to my diary.
- Your first lesson. I pick you up from home, school or Sevenoaks station, and we start somewhere quiet, at your pace. Afterwards, I'll give you an honest estimate of how many hours you're likely to need.
Before you get in touch
- A provisional licence. You'll need one for your first lesson. You can apply from 15 years and 9 months old on the GOV.UK website, and start lessons at 17. Apply for a provisional driving licence (opens in a new tab)
- No theory test needed yet. You can start lessons before you've passed it.
- Where I teach. Sevenoaks, Kemsing, Ightham, Riverhead and the villages nearby, with pick-ups from home, school or Sevenoaks station.

Common worries
Am I committing to anything by sending this?
No. A message just starts a conversation. There's nothing to sign, and you only ever pay for the lessons you have.
I'm nervous, or I've had a bad experience before.
You're far from alone. I'm calm, patient and never sharp, and you have absolutely nothing to prove to me. Several of my reviews are from learners who struggled with another instructor first.
Am I too old to learn?
Not at all. I teach adults of every age, including people returning after a long gap and drivers from overseas.
What will it cost overall?
Lessons are from £60 an hour, pay as you go. My prices page shows the typical total, and why my learners usually need fewer hours. See prices
Not sure whether to learn in a manual or an automatic?
That's fine. Mention it in your message, and we can try both.
What if we're not a good fit?
Just tell me. You'll have paid only for the lessons you've had, with no hard feelings.
